Additional Maintenance Services

In addition to routine services above, we also provide and recommend the following to maintain an inviting view from the curb or your kitchen window:

Bed Maintenance
• Bed weeding – keeps unsightly weeds out of your landscape beds and keeps them from competing for nutrients that you plants and shrubs need
• Re-defining natural bed edges – not only gives the beds a crisp clean look, but also delineates turf from the planting area – this may be done either manually or mechanically
• Bed mulching – it does more than give your landscape beds that “fresh look”. It helps to moderate soil temperatures keeping them warmer in the winter months and cooler in the summer months. It also suppresses weed growth.
• Pre-emergent weed control – helps do as it says, an application when mulching will help reduce the amount of weed competition in your landscape beds
Shrub Maintenance
• Spring and/or fall feedings using a slow release fertilizer will help keep shrubs healthy throughout the year
• Shrub pruning will help keep shrubs from growing out of control, keep them in shape and encourage new growth as well
• Shrub spraying – to control insects such as scale, aphids, and spider mites to name a few
Color with annuals and or perennials
• Spring pansies will give your property that pop to let everyone know soring has arrived
• Summer annuals come in a variety of plants and colors to fit your tastes and planting areas. They give your property color from May to October
• Fall mums and pansies will signal the change of seasons with that pop of fall color
• Winter cabbage and kale will give your property some color through the stark winter months
Fall Lawn Care
• Lawn de-thatching will remove the layer of thatch or dead fungus ridden areas of your lawn. Thatch is naturally occurring in your lawn, but if this layer of dead grass gets too thick, water and nutrients cannot get to the roots of the turf. The thatch is raked up and removed from your property.
• Lawn core aeration is one of the most beneficial and yet overlooked cultural practices that should be done annually to lawns. This process removes “cores” from your lawn anywhere from 1”-3” in depth which help reduce the thatch layer as well as break up soil compaction. This allows air circulation and water flow to the root zone of the plants enabling better fertilizer uptake and root growth and expansion. Many times over-seeding is incorporated with this service.
• Lawn renovation is the process of dethatching, core aeration, lawn over-seeding, an application of lime and a starting fertilizer. Areas that get ripped up to bare soil are coated with a thin layer of peat moss to help disguise the seed from birds and keep the soil moist for seed germination.
